ABOUT ISABEL
Isabel Thottam is a dynamic leader and storyteller at the intersection of food equity and creative media. With a background as a café owner and baker on Hawai‘i Island, she built a local culinary following before expanding her impact into content creation and food distribution. Today, she serves as the Director of Eat! Food Distribution at Food Access Los Angeles, where she oversees programs that connect produce grown by small California farmers with communities in need across LA.
In addition to her leadership in food access, Isabel is a creative communicator across multiple media. She is the co‑host of When Isabel Met Aviva, a critically‑acclaimed podcast that explores rom‑com screenwriting through insightful conversations with female filmmakers, now in its fourth season and consistently charting among top TV & Film podcasts. She is also a screenwriter featured on Coverfly, known for her work in comedy and family screenplays
A graduate of Emerson College and the daughter of an Indian immigrant father, Isabel brings a multicultural perspective to all of her projects. Whether she’s innovating food distribution systems, hosting engaging storytelling interviews, or writing scripts with heart and humor, Isabel is driven by a singular mission: to nourish communities and champion diverse voices.
